November 21st - Choir Rehearsal

What a great turnout today! Our songs are really coming along nicely. The best part for me was watching the students dance. In our final song, the front row of Gr. 2 girls danced the Can Can to Holiday Hoedown and they did a great job! Then in the middle of the song there is an actual square dance and groups of boys, and girls came down off the risers to participate. I wish I would have video taped them as they did a fine "hoedown" as I called out the steps. There will be more opportunities to dance in future practices to come. Our next rehearsal will be on November 29th and I can't wait.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Martin

What a Great First Practice!

We held our first choir practice for grades 2 and 3 on Wednesday, November 2nd. We did some stretching, vocal warm-ups, canons and began 2 of our winter pieces: Winter Hoedown and A Hot Cup of Cocoa. A big thank you to Jessica and Sarah in JH for assisting us as well as Mrs. Dorin and Mrs. Bastiaan who are always willing to lend a hand. Thank you also to my parent helpers who wrote words out on chart paper (Esmeralda, Sherri, Patti and Nancy) and gathered email addresses(Mrs. Zaitsev).

Our next choir rehearsal will be on Thursday, November 10th at 12:30 and every Day 3 after that.
PS If students would like to listen to Hot Cup of Cocoa, I have attached a video link.
